Best you can Buy Aug 02, 2009 By B. Pine "Kinglord"
This has been the staple in my lawn care routine since the 80s. Gave Scott's a try but all it did was make the grass grow high, did not do anything to fill in all the bare spots in my lawn. Bought a bag of Ringer Lawn Restore in Home Depot after reading the bag on how it worked and that it was safe to use around pets and people. Within the first 30 days grass started filling in areas it never grow before and in 3 years which is the time limit the bag said it would take to restore a badly neglected lawn it was back full with no bare spots. What makes this fertilizer different it isn't high in nitrogen force feeding your grass but reenergizes the soil which is what really feeds the lawn. I do mix a bag of Ironite and Epson Salts into the fertilizer bag then store in a water proof bucket with a lid, the fertilizer must be keep dry. The people who invented this now have a new line of products called Organica i was told by my local nursery worker but this will always remain my fertilizer of choice, safe for use around pets & children and works.

I didn't think one application of fertilizer could make such a difference. My lawn is not only greener, but it is also thicker. The areas that receive no water haven't changed as dramatically, but the areas that have received some water are amazing. It smelled a little "chickeny" for the first day or two and my puppy thought the bits of fertilizer were edible, but once it was watered in both problems went away. I would definitely recommend this product to others and plan on ordering a bag for fall application.

I have been using this for the past 15 years. I did not want my two boys and 3 dogs to play in chemicals. This product has been an ideal solution. It does cost more and more frequent use is a good idea. But, it is worth it to me, and my lawn is very healthy too.

I lost track of this product after the hardware store I purchased it from went belly-up over 10 years ago. Thank you Internet (and Al Gore), thank you Google, for re-uniting me with this product. My lawn has always been problematic, and I have a low maintenance approach. Fussing over one's lawn is a losing battle and a waste of time. And I refuse to use nasty chemicals, and hate wasting water. When I used Lawn Restore, my lawn looked great and all I had to do was push the spreader around 1 time (it was a fall application). Come spring, I had the greenest, thickest and most weed-free lawn ever. I remember that I applied lime along with it, but subsequent applications of lime with other fertilizers did not produce comparable results. Went to purchase more the following fall and it was nowhere to be found.

Pro's: Works like magic, really! AND it's organic.

Cons: Hard to find, expensive to ship. I found cheaper shipping elsewhere, otherwise I would have purchased it from this seller. The price was right, but the shipping almost doubled it.

I was recommended this fertlizer by all the forums as one of the best organic fertlizer and unfortunately the big stores nor the local gardens carry it in New Haven county.
I then by chance came across this being sold at ozbo(an online retailer) for 24 bucks a big plus a flat 4.95 shipping charge.The shipping charge was the same whether I ordered 1 or more bags.
So I stocked up the other fertlizers too along with this.
This merchant from amazon seems to be making a killing with his cost and shipping costs.
